DOMAIN REGISTRATION

What is a domain name?
A domain name, or simply "domain", is an individual's or group's address on the Internet, such as "CheaperThanCheapDomains.com". It must be a unique name to set it apart from all the other domain names on the web. (Top)

Why should I have a domain name?
Having a domain name makes it easier for people using the Internet to find your site on the World Wide Web. Even if you don't have a website yet, it is still better to register your domain to avoid somebody else registering and using that name for themselves. When you get a unique domain name, it will lend credibility and prestige to your company or organization. (Top)

Who should register a domain name?
Anyone who wants to establish a presence on the Internet should register a domain name. Businesses who have spent time and money building up a brand and organizations who want credibility for their causes should register their own domains to prevent unauthorized use of their trademark or identity. I just registered a domain, but my domain is not showing up at my control panel.
This may happen if the registration has been cancelled inadvertently or there were issues with the domain registration information. Either way, if the registration process is valid, we will complete your domain registration and send you your domain information and invoice via email.

When you register a domain, please make sure that you receive by email the domain registration notice and invoice within 24 hours; otherwise, please notify us at cs@ctcd.com.

If the registration has been successful and you accessed your control panel at another time, it is possible that you have several member accounts, and you logged in under a certain account although your domain is under the management of your other account. (Top)

Do you offer web hosting?
We currently do not offer web hosting services. (Top)

Does parking come with e-mail services?
We do not offer e-mail forwarding at this time but we do offer MX records setup for your domain. You just need to provide us with a valid mail server IP address. (Top)

Can we register any domain name we want?
There are limitations to the domain name being registered. A domain name may consist only of alphanumeric characters (a-z, 0-9) and the hyphen character (-). It may not begin nor end with a hyphen and must not be purely numeric characters. As few as three (3) characters and as many as 62 characters are permitted for a second-level domain (ie. "cheaperthancheapdomains"). It is recommended to have no more than 26 characters for the domain name as some mail programs do not accept longer domains. Also, your domain should reflect the product, service or point-of-view offered by your website. (Top)

How do I register a domain name?
First, you have to check whether the domain you want to register is available or not. If it is available, you have to select the number of years you want it to be registered. Then you will have to provide the details of the domain registrant (owner of the domain name), administrative, technical, and billing contacts. After this, you will be asked for the domain name servers (or you may park your domain at our name servers, at no extra charge). Upon completing your payment details, you will receive a confirmation and email containing the invoice which you can print for filing. (Top)

I want to register a domain name but I don't have a host yet.
A domain name should be placed or "parked" in a host or name server for it to be valid. In case your domain does not have a host or name server yet, you can park your domain at ours for free. This comes with either web forwarding or a mini-homepage which you can customize, depending on what you choose. (Top)

Can I reserve a domain name?
A domain name can only be reserved upon receipt of due payments. (Top)

What happens then after I register a domain name?
If the domain name you are searching for is available and your registration form is filled out correctly, a notification email will be sent to you. Sometimes a domain is registered and paid for by someone else in the time it takes you to search for availability and fill out the registration form. If that happens, you will be shown a message informing you that the domain is no longer available and requesting you to register a different domain. (Top)

What can I do if I have misspelled my domain name?
Your domain name registration is submitted as soon as you complete the registration process. Your domain name cannot be changed after you complete the registration. We do not offer refunds for misspelled domain names. (Top)

I want to be able to use your web forwarding feature for my domain. How do I do that?
You will need to modify your domain information to use the following name servers:

ns1.webxtend.com
ns2.webxtend.com

After updating your domain name servers, go back to your domain list and click on the link under the "Parked" column. You may then select the web forwarding option and then enter the web site address where you want your domain to go to. This update will then propagate after a few hours. (Top)

DOMAIN MODIFICATION

Do I have to pay a fee to modify my domain?
Domain information and name server modifications are free of charge. (Top)

Can I modify my domain name information after it is registered?
You can modify your domain name information at any time after your domain is registered. Simply log into the web site and click on the "Modify Domain Info" link on the right. (Top)

My domain is parked on your name servers. How do I make it redirect to another existing website address?
On your homepage, click on the "Yes" link under the Parked column of the corresponding domain you wish to modify. You just need to select between the options regular Web Forwarding (the browser address box will show the site address to which your domain redirects) or Stealth Web Forwarding (your domain name remains visible on the browser address box). Type in the complete web site address on the "Website Url" textbox and click on "go" button to update. (Top)

TRANSFERS

Can I transfer my domain name from my current registrar?
Domain names can easily be transferred from one registrar to CheaperThanCheapDomains.com. You only get charged for a minimum extended one-year registration fee, nothing extra for the transfer! Currently, we are only supporting .COM, .NET, and .ORG domains for transfer. (Top)

How long does it take for a domain transfer to complete?
Due to the many steps involved in a domain registrar transfer, CheaperThanCheapDomains.com makes no warranty that your domain transfer will be completed in a certain time period, although it ideally takes place within seven days. The length of transfer depends on the promptness of response of the Administrative Contact and of the affirmative reply of the current registrar. Transfer requests are automatically cancelled if no reply is sent 12 days after the request for approval e-mail is sent to the Administrative Contact. (Top)

I am trying to transfer my domain but it returns me to the transfer form and says that my domain is rejected. Why is that?
It could be that your domain is classified under any of the following: domain has a TLD (top-level domain) other than .com, .net, .org, .biz, or .info; domain has been already requested for transfer to CheaperThanCheapDomains.com; domain is unregistered or has already expired; domain is set to expire in less than or equal to 14 days; current registrar rejects transfer; initial date of registration or date of transfer completion to another registrar is less than sixty (60) days prior to the transfer request; domain has a locked status; pending bankruptcy of the current domain registrant; there is a dispute over the identity of the domain registrant; transfer order is over 30 days old; any situation described in the dispute policy. I want to transfer my domain. Does my domain's nameserver get changed upon transfer?
When a domain name is transferred to our registrar, the current nameservers are not changed or updated. This ensures that there will be no downtime for your domain while the transfer is processing. Once the transfer completes, you can update your domain's nameservers through the domain manager. (Top)

What happens during a domain transfer?
Once a transfer request has been made, our registrar sends the Administrative Contact an email of instructions to facilitate approval of the transfer. When the Administrative Contact sends his approval, our registrar then contacts the domain's current registrar for approval of transfer. The current registrar usually sends the Administrative Contact confirmation and request for approval of the transfer request. When the current registrar receives an affirmative response from the Administrative Contact, it relays the response to our registrar. The whois information of the domain is then transferred to us, completing the transfer process. When this happens, you will be receiving an email from our registrar about the transfer completion. How do I transfer my PH domain to my account here at CheaperThanCheapDomains.com?
Kindly go to https://ctcd.domains.ph/transferlogin.asp. Type in your domain name, the primary/secondary contact email address and password. Modify the domain information as necessary. You will then be asked to select the desired number of renewal years (please disregard the shown amount). Click on button "Pay By Cash or Check".

To complete the domain transfer, pay for the domain transfer-renewal by logging in at http://www.ctcd.com/ and clicking on Miscellaneous Payments link. Type in the domain name, payment description (eg. 'Transfer-Renewal for 1 year'), and the amount equivalent to the domain registration renewal. Then submit the form to proceed to checkout.

We will approve the transfer request upon receipt of payment. PLEASE NOTE: We will reject the transfer request if we have not confirmed payment 5 days after the request has been made. (Top)

What is your Refund Policy?
Refunds will be given at the discretion of CheaperThanCheapDomains.com and WebXtend, Inc. Be aware that at the point you receive confirmation of registration, your domain name has already been secured and payment processed in real-time. Please ensure that the spelling of your domain name is correct, that you have chosen the correct extension and that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of the transaction and registration. I don't have a credit card. How can I pay through UCPB 1Time® or Payplus+?
For UCPB 1Time®, you must have a savings or current account with United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) to avail of the 1Time Payment facility. For further details, you can visit http://www.ucpb.com/my1time/faq/faq.asp for more details.

For PayPlus+, you can use your Philippine-based BancNet ATM card to pay for your domain registration. Please visit http://www.payplus.com.ph/ for more information. (Top)

Do you have other payment options aside from credit card, UCPB 1Time® Payment, and Payplus+?
We also accept bank deposit payments. However, we are encouraging credit card or 1Time payment for new registrations as the availability of the domain you want to register can be checked and guaranteed in real time.

MEMBERSHIP

I have forgotten my Login information. How do I retrieve it?
Please click on the link "Forgot Login Info?" under the Members Login Area on the left side of the site. If you remember your Member ID, please type it on the corresponding textbox and click go. If you don't remember what your Member ID is, type in one of your domain names registered with us on the corresponding textbox. An email containing your Login information will be sent to your registered email address. (Top)

I just received a notice requesting for the transfer of one of my domains to another Member account. How do approve/deny the request?
You will need to log in first and then click on the link "Domain Account Requests" on the links menu on the left side. You will then be presented with a list of domains requested to be transferred out of your account to another Member account. Click on Approve or Deny links of the corresponding domain request as you deem appropriate. An email will be sent to the requesting Member on whether you have approved or denied the request. (Top)

How do I get a domain listed under the account of another CheaperThanCheapDomains member transferred to my account?
After logging in, click on the link Domain Account Requests on the links menu on the left side. Then, click on "Initiate Request". Type in the domain that you wish to be transferred to your account on the corresponding textbox. An email will then be sent to the current account holder requesting for the domain account transfer from his to your account. (Top)

What if I want to dispute any claim to the domain name I want?
You must have some valid claim over the domain name in dispute. Please see the dispute policy for more information. (Top)

What if someone has my trademark registered?
If you can prove that this is your trademark, you may be able to bring a dispute against the registrant. For more information, please see the dispute policy. (Top)

Do you have a reseller or affiliate program?
